BSEEN at Birmingham City University is a twelve-month business start up service for student and graduate entrepreneurs. It will help you to develop the knowledge, skills and networks you need when starting your own business.
What’s more, as its funded by ERDF, being a member of the BSEEN business start up programme is absolutely free to eligible applicants.

Yes! The Birmingham Skills for Enterprise and Employability Network (BSEEN) service is available free of charge to all eligible candidates.
We offer this service for free because it is supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), a governing body that aims to support SME growth and employability within the region.

Please note: International students are not able to set up a business due to VISA restrictions. International graduates will need to apply for the Tier 1 Startup VISA if accepted onto the programme.
You will be located on site at one of Birmingham City University’s campuses. We have a number of locations that you could work from and this will be discussed with you during your meeting with one of the BSEEN advisors.
If accepted, you will be entitled to 12 months of free business start-up support.
"GBSLEP" stands for the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership. As well as Birmingham and Solihull, the region covers Lichfield, Cannock Chase, Wyre Valley, East Staffordshire, Redditch and more.
